We are proud to share that Aaron Maples, partner at Maples, Connick & Brendel, has been elected to the 2026–2027 Board of Directors of the Alabama Association for Justice (ALAJ). The election took place during ALAJ’s Annual Convention, held this year at The Henderson Beach Resort in Destin, Florida.
The Alabama Association for Justice is a statewide organization of plaintiff attorneys dedicated to protecting the Seventh Amendment right to trial by jury and promoting equal access to justice through Alabama’s courts. The organization advocates for policies that preserve accountability, strengthen consumer protection, and ensure that individuals and businesses alike have meaningful access to the civil justice system. Its mission is a simple one: Good Lawyers. Good Laws.
Aaron’s election to the Board reflects his ongoing commitment to the people of Alabama and the Gulf Coast. As an advocate for injured clients and families, he joins a group of attorneys from across the state who volunteer their time and talent to advance ALAJ’s mission and to help ensure that every Alabamian has access to a fair and impartial system of justice.
The convention also marked the election of ALAJ’s 2026–2027 officers, who will be led by incoming President Lucy Tufts of Mobile. As ALAJ CEO Ginger Avery noted, the attorneys who serve the organization play a critical role in preserving confidence in Alabama’s civil justice system and protecting the rights of its citizens.

2026–2027 ALAJ Leadership
During the Annual Convention, the Alabama Association for Justice also elected the officers who will guide the organization in the coming year. Lucy Tufts of Mobile will serve as President, with Derrick Mills of Birmingham as President-Elect. Christina D. Crow of Union Springs was elected First Vice President and Robert “Bo” Bruner of Birmingham as Second Vice President. Nathan Harris of Hoover will serve as Secretary, Gavin King of Montgomery as Treasurer, and Clint Mountain of Tuscaloosa as Immediate Past President.
