Eric Hamilton is an associate attorney at Maples, Connick & Brendel, bringing a unique combination of military service, government experience, and legal training to his practice.
Background and Experience
Before entering the legal profession, Eric served as an Infantry Squad Leader with the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment from 2003 to 2007, deploying twice to Iraq and throughout Southwest Asia. After his honorable discharge in 2012, Eric attended Tulane University, earning his bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security Studies and Business before continuing to Tulane University Law School, where he received his J.D. in 2019.
During law school, Eric gained practical experience through internships at the Jefferson Parish 24th Judicial District Court and Orleans Parish Civil District Court, where he assisted attorneys in preparation for hearings and trials.
Prior Government Service
Before joining the firm, Eric worked at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where he was responsible for analyzing legal, medical, and occupational evidence and ensuring proper application of VA laws and regulations. This experience gave him a strong foundation in evidence analysis and regulatory compliance that he now applies to his personal injury practice.
Veteran and Community Advocate
Eric is a proud Marine Corps veteran and an active member of VFW Post 8973 in New Orleans, where he serves as adjutant. Originally from New York State, Eric relocated to New Orleans in 2010 with the Marine Corps and chose to remain in the city because of its vibrant atmosphere and community.
